Ensor Museum
The Ensor Museum stands at 27 Vlaanderen Straat. This is the actual house where James Ensor lived with his parents and sister (and of course, the torments of Christ).

It was originally a curiosity shop owned by his uncle. James Ensor inherrited it in 1917, and although he closed the shop he left the curious objects untouched as an inspiration for his work.

For an entrance fee of 50 belgium francs you can explore the three floors which he used as his home and studio. For 50 francs more you can buy a guide book which gives a commentary of each room.

There are only replicas of his work adorning the walls, but his real furniture is there, including a pianoforte and a harmonium on which he composed music.
