| | | | | James Ensor died in 1949, and was buried in the churchyard of "Vrouw ter Duinen" (translates as: Church of Dunes), a church which featured in many of his paintings.
The church is easy to find as you can see it from the promenade if you walk far enough (about 20-30 mins from the Ensor Museum). There's a tram stop near the church also.
The actual tomb is also easy to find as there are only a few graves there. You will have trouble digging him up to shake his hand, however, as the tomb is closed with a large stone and sealed with bricks. But it is still possible to appreciate the man.
Writing on tomb reads: Baron James Ensor 1860 - 1949
